Pouring slow dripped coffee over boiling milk and watching the colour turn from white to a dark golden brown as I warm my hands over the hot stove top.

Rainy days, bus stops and tea shops

On a particularly rainy day I had much time to kill.

The warm smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut, vanilla and other delicious flavours

beckoned and welcomed.

I entered.

The Tea Shop.

It was a good decision.

I went up to Ottawa for the Animation Film Festival. It was a lot of fun, volunteering, good screenings, not so good screenings (that others seemed to enjoy nonetheless!) , inspiring talks and many chilly walks- to the various venues, and also to Quebec (by accident). I ate a delicious sandwich in the rain, and another well prepared one ( courtesy my aunt and fantastic Indian pickle) in the soothing, warming sun. I skipped out on the late night events and exciting animator parties, but got to spend some time with family and my cousin's delightful little children- cheerful, intelligent, and boiling over with energy!

I used the Manimate as an excuse to start this one. A concept from a page in my sketchbook, I wanted to retain the sketchbook look, while keeping the production quality low, because it was supposed to be done within 24 hours (more like 24 days!)

A Walk in the Park

We lost our way in a park, panicked and called 911. In our defense, it spreads over 600 acres, and even the rangers had trouble locating us. We would have been stranded among unknown grass and horse droppings much longer, if it wasn't for the geese flying towards the setting sun.

It was probably a little much to expect a helicopter to come rescue us, but the nice park rangers gave us a ride back through the rocky roads of Farmdale Reservoir on the back of one of these!

Jaggers the golden doodle

The true story of a golden poodle named Jaggers and his encounter with a hair dryer, based on one of several interesting animal encounters of my sister, the veterinarian!

(His owners named him after the song by Maroon5- Moves like Jagger, hence the soundtrack.)
